Make the Leap into the Cloud 01/31/2011
Network World conducted a study that examines the current state of cloud computing and its impact on the world of IT. We found out 53% of our audience has at least one application or a portion of their computing infrastructure in the cloud. That's over half who are already seeing benefits such as increased speed of delivery and higher levels of end-user satisfaction. While that figure is impressive, that leaves nearly half who are still wondering what their next steps will be. To address the most pressing cloud questions and uncertainty, Network World is launching a brand new editorial series called Enterprise Cloud Services. Our insightful editors, led by John Dix, have developed a six-part series focused on addressing enterprise concerns when it comes to adopting cloud. We'll seek to clear the confusion, discuss implementation options, and provide real world recommendations for organizations to prepare for, and realize the benefits of, cloud computing. The key areas around preparation include failover protection, security, application performance management, identity management, data replication, and of course, virtualization. Cloud is the next big step and Network World can help get you involved now. The Enterprise Cloud Services series launches February 7 — it's not too late to take advantage of Platinum, Gold and Silver program options, which feature Welcome Ads and Roadblocks to showcase your company as a cloud thought leader.
